If there was ever a time to have an excuse to be away from your desk, it’s today - the International Day of Yoga, inaugurated last year by the United Nations to recognise the 5,000-year-old practice that promotes both physical and spiritual wellbeing.
And if you've been looking to take up yoga, either as a newbie or a lapsed practitioner, there's no better time than now, because you can be part of a 24-hour #YogaRelay. (Hey, practice makes perfect, right?)
Organised by Asian yoga giant PURE Yoga, this is the first event of its kind here, and it aims to unite its yoga community via classes held across five cities: Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai and New York.
Hong Kong kicks off the relay at 8am (GMT +8), followed by Taiwan, Singapore and Shanghai. New York brings things to a close from 8pm (EDT).
Want to be part of it? Choose from one of three sessions (or sign up for all of them) which will be held at PURE Yoga, Ngee Ann City: 5pm to 6pm Vinyasa with Arun, 6pm to 7pm Hot Hatha with Jacque or 7pm to 8pm Hatha with Arun. Call 6733 8863 to reserve your mat.
