Remember Waku Ghin’s Patisserie Platine dessert boutique at this year’s Epicurean Market? The kiosk, stocked full of pretty treats, was a sell-out success and ran out of goods just a couple of hours into the event.
Well, guess what? The award-winning restaurant helmed by celebrity chef Tetsuya Wakuda has opened a permanent counter inside Rise Lounge at Marina Bay Sands. On offer is a selection of 18 types of intricate sweets and cakes by the Waku Ghin pastry team.
The best part: You can just grab and go and prices range from $10 to $12, so for those who can’t afford the big-ticket tab at the main restaurant or are too busy to sit down for a languid meal, this is perfect.
All the pastries are crafted using premium ingredients and fresh seasonal fruits from Japan and Europe, and are deliciously delicate on the palate.
Besides decadent signatures like the Chocolate Mousse, Matcha Opera, Lemon Tarte and macarons, the selection includes the restaurant’s famed Ghin Cheese Cake, which has a centre that pops with tangy lemon curd. Definitely one option to keep in mind the next time you’re craving dessert.
Patisserie Platine is open from 11am daily at Rise Lounge, Marina Bay Sands Hotel Tower 1.
