We all know Adele for her one-of-a-kind vocals, her signature cat-eye makeup and her delightful cackle. But who knew she could also bust a move?
In her new music video for her latest single, Send My Love (To Your New Lover), the singer grooves along to the upbeat tune about being happy that a relationship has come to an end (yes, it was inspired by her ex). The music video, which made its debut at the Billboard Music Awards over the weekend, is quickly creating buzz online. Here are some fun facts about it.
#1 It was filmed by Patrick Daughters
He’s an American video and commercial director, and the same guy who gave us KT Tunstall’s Suddenly I See, Muse’s Stockholm Syndrome and Interpol’s No I In Threesome.
#2 It took 12 takes - and there was no choreography involved
Daughters told Entertainment Weekly magazine that suggestions were made to Adele to do more of certain moves, but basically she just went with the flow. The general angle, in line with the song, was about letting go of relationship ghosts.
#3 Adele picked out her own wardrobe
If you think the flower-print dress she’s wearing is familiar, you’re right. It's from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
