Couturier and master of the frothy frock, Giambattista Valli has been revealed as H&M’s designer collaborator for 2019. The Italian name joins the club that counts Moschino, Erdem, Kenzo, Balmain and Maison Margiela as alumni, and unveiled a few of the collection’s pieces where they’re most at home—the amfAR gala red carpet in Cannes.
Kendall Jenner, musician Chris Lee, H.E.R., Chiara Ferragni and model-actress Bianca Brandolini d’Adda were the first to debut Valli’s dreamy ruffles and thigh-grazing tulle, alongside singer Ross Lynch who was clad in a see-through embroidered shirt and a polka-dot suit.
Referred to as Project Love, the designer says that couture to him is like “bringing a dream into reality”, and with H&M, he is “excited to see what is going to happen with this collaboration, and all the love stories that are going to start all around the world.”

The full Giambattista Valli x H&M collection will be released globally on 7 November.
