We love shopping as much as the next person…wait, make that much more. And the easiest place to lose yourself in shopping is at a mall. But the problem with having scores of shops under one roof is this: Retail therapy can turn into a retail quandary. Where to go, what to buy? How do you know which stores are having a sale on, or which have just brought in new collections?
That may very well be how shoppers feel when they wander into the vast Shoppes Marina Bay Sands, which is crammed with 170 luxury stores. And it could be why the mall is launching a new personal shopping service, which it says is the first offered by an upscale mall in Singapore.
Unlike the usual sort of personal shopping, this one comes with a twist. Instead of having one personal shopper do your bidding, you have a whole army of experts at your disposal: Personal stylists from individual brands pre-select pieces for you based on your budget and preferences, which you’re then taken round to see by a dedicated chaperone (by buggy, if you so wish). The experience ends with complimentary afternoon tea at TWG.
What’s also pretty cool is how easy it is to book the three-hour service – all you have to do is fill out a form online with information such as your style inspirations, size and more.
Says John Postle, vice-president of retail at Marina Bay Sands: “The Personal Shopping service caters to the progressive demands from our discerning shoppers. The new service is not only a great way to host our VIP customers and royal dignitaries, it’s also a special way of engaging our everyday customers who appreciate undivided access to our comprehensive collection of global brands under one roof.”
