‘Fridge’ and ‘fashion’ are two words we never thought we’d ever put together in a sentence — until Dolce & Gabbana’s collaboration with luxury domestic appliances company Smeg, that is.
The two Italian brands have teamed up once again to design a special edition of Smeg’s popular FAB 28 refrigerator. Each fridge features artwork by Sicilian artists depicting unique imagery — from the trinacria symbol to medieval knights and battle scenes — that stem from iconic Italian culture like the marionette theatre and the Sicilian cart (or Carretto Siciliano).
The FAB 28 fridges have always been known for its retro chic design, but with new flourishes by Dolce & Gabbana, they’ve become works of art. Want one? You’ve got to get ready to fight for it — there are only 100 pieces available. The special collection will make its debut at furniture trade fair Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2016 in Milan, from 12 to 17 April.
