Last year, we saw a hint of what Tex Saverio could do when he teamed up with local label Love, Bonito on a special collection. Then on Wednesday, the upcoming Indonesian designer – who’s designed for names such as Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and produced that spectacular dress on The Hunger Games – pulled out all the stops with the launch of his first couture show and a presentation in Jakarta attended by 1,500 people.
Called Trism, the collection was divided into three segments: Purity (white, detailed and bride-worthy), Passion (intricate embroidery on black) and Evolution (fantastical designs on a white and gold palette). Saverio closed his show with a futuristic, sculpted metal gown that glided down the runway and gave everyone that perfect Instagram moment.
Said the designer: “(Trism) took me two years, because I wanted it to be special. Everything was made by hand, focusing on the couture tradition itself. This is my utmost contribution to Indonesia’s creative industry.”
