There’re plenty of smart accessories on the market right now — from Google Glass to the Apple Watch — and while these pieces can be worn, how many would actually make chic additions to your wardrobe?
Meet the Ringly ring. Plated in 18k gold and inlaid with precious or semi-precious stones like emerald, onyx and moonstone, it looks as good as it functions. The simple design makes it casual enough for everyday wear, while the luminous stones add a glam touch.
So how does it work? Created by Christina Mercando and Logan Munro in New York, the ring syncs with your phone through the Ringly app, and vibrates to notify you when you get calls, text messages, email and even when you have to go for your next meeting.
Another plus point is that you can choose what notifications you want to get (for example, if you only want to receive calls from your mum), so you can sift through distractions like Twitter and Instagram mentions. This means you can finally put away that phone and focus on quality face-to-face time with your family and friends. A smart piece of jewellery, indeed.
