The Ray-Ban Clubmaster: Now Even More Stylo In Wood

The much-loved classic sunglasses have been remastered for FW15

We’re pretty excited: Ray-Ban’s range of Clubmaster for the Fall/Winter 2015 collection has been reinterpreted in wood: Cherry, maple and walnut.

While wooden eyewear has been popular in recent years, there’s really nothing like a perennially distinctive shape like the Clubmaster rocking it.

The range includes four sunglass styles — maple with brown rubber and lenses, walnut with green rubber and lenses, walnut with polarised green lenses, and this style here, cherry wood with blue rubber and grey-blue lenses. There are also four optical styles in the same wood-rubber combinations.

The inner blue rubber layer on the frame definitely adds cushy comfort to the Clubmaster — so it doesn’t feel as stiff as wooden eyewear sometimes does — and also works as a nice colour accent. And the grey-blue tinge on the lens only shows under the sun and is a contemporary hue that isn’t ostentatious. I love the good rivets and hardware, which drives the vintage charm through, and of course, like all Ray-Bans sold in Singapore, there is the Asian fit that ensures that the bridge sits well on our faces.

No surprise that these wooden Clubmasters will be on heavy rotation.
