“We travel more and more. So why shouldn’t there be Chanel luggage?”
Once again, Karl Lagerfeld has said it like it is. And indeed, why shouldn’t there? Why should fashion mavens suffer the indignity of having to pair their 2.55 with a lesser suitcase or a weekend bag that doesn’t match, if they can afford it?
Enter Chanel’s Spring Summer 2016 collection, an extensive range of luggage, handbags, vanity cases, costume jewellery, jackets and shoes that put the T for tres chic back in travel.
From cabin luggage in quilted leather to chains and braiding reinvented in silicon and prints that echo tweed, the collection reinterprets the French house’s signatures in a fun yet functional way and is designed to be layered for a hands- and hassle-free journey.
Hues include the distinctly French red-blue-white combination, classic black and a muted grey that’s a sly reference to the colour of an airplane fuselage.
We especially love the evening pieces, including one that looks like a mini cabin luggage and a minaudiere in black resin and quilted leather parked on real wheels – how fun!

The Chanel SS16 Ready-To-Wear collection will be available in Chanel boutiques from March.
