The Collab Everyone Will Be Waiting For: Moschino X H&M

Anything by Jeremy Scott is pretty much guaranteed to be rad.

Over the Coachella weekend, H&M announced its collab with iconic Italian fashion label Moschino. In true digital-age fashion, the announcement was broadcast at the annual Moschino party at Coachella via an Instagram live call from model Gigi Hadid to Moschino’s creative director Jeremy Scott.

Both Hadid and Scott gave everyone who tuned in a first glimpse at the Moschino x H&M pieces, which they wore during the event. The new designer collection, which includes womenswear and menswear designs, will be made available online and in selected stores worldwide from 8 November 2018.

Scott is excited about this collab even though he is no stranger to high-low fashion tie-ups — he has previously partnered other brands for various projects. “For over a decade, I collaborated with Adidas to make pieces that were affordable and accessible all over the world,” he told H&M. “With H&M, Moschino can be all over the world.”

Since joining Moschino in 2013, Scott has produced innumerable memorable runway creations inspired by some of the most unexpected items — from childhood toys and cartoon characters like Barbie and SpongeBob to everyday items like safety cones and even trash bin lids. He has also built a strong celebrity following that includes the likes of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga.

If you’re familiar with Scott’s design style, you'd know the H&M x Moschino designs are sure to be conversation pieces. So, clear some space in your wardrobe now and get ready to welcome some standout pieces into your life come November 2018. But before that, here’s a #throwback look at some of the best designs from the house of Moschino as well as H&M’s designer tie-ups over the years.
