Louis Vuitton Store In Rio Robbed

Just two days after its high-profile Cruise show

It was perhaps too much to take…and so they took it all. Following its extremely successful and widely broadcast Cruise show in Rio de Janeiro over the weekend, Louis Vuitton had one of its stores robbed on Tuesday.

According The New York Times, the thieves stole bags worth about 500,000 Brazilian reals (SGD$191,500) from the French label’s Ipanema store – the price it paid for being the first major luxury brand to hold a high-profile fashion show in Brazil.

Police secured the store later in the day as customers were queuing up to buy items as a result of the show.

Where the stolen bags will turn up is anyone’s guess – Brazil has a lucrative black market and a thriving counterfeit industry.
