Question: How do you know when your hometown has made it big in the sneaker scene? Answer: When a major shoe brand rolls out designs inspired by it.
Which is what Adidas Consortium – the brand’s boutique premier line – has done. Together with local sneaker specialists Limited Edt, it’s launching a new Superstar and ZX Flux Batik collection at Sole Superior, Singapore’s top streetwear convention, today!
Like the latter’s name suggests, both models feature a custom-made indigo batik print that channels the Little Red Dot’s cultural roots and showcases the Asian technique of wax-resist dyeing to the global streetwear community.
If you look closely (check out the gallery above), you’ll see that the intricate pattern incorporates Singapore’s national flower the orchid, the Adidas trefoil and Limited Edt’s emblem.
Both models also boast other cute touches – think stuff like a rose gold-coloured heel cage, transparent blue outsole and a lace jewel on the ZX Flux. Meanwhile, the super soft black leather Superstar 80v sports a rose gold shell-toe and rose gold-tipped laces. How cute is that!
The ZX Flux is $179 and the Superstar 80v, $219.
Sneakerheads can pre-order a pair from today at Sole Superior, or preview them in the photo gallery above or at Limited Edt stores (at 313@Somerset, Marina Bay Sands, Queensway, Jem and Peninsula Plaza) from tomorrow. The kicks will be released globally on 28 November at global Consortium outlets.
