The verdant landscape that Alessandro Michele started cultivating last year is about to bloom. Come 5 July, the Italian house will launch a special online-only capsule collection featuring all the creative director’s by-now-signature motifs inspired by flora and fauna that are part of the brand’s new design lexicon.
Called Gucci Garden, the range is made up of key silhouettes and pieces in Gucci’s women’s wardrobe. Think a silk reversible bomber jacket in silk twill, a pleated ankle-length dress, ’70s-style shorts and its bestselling Dionysus bag in three sizes, all liberally sprinkled with Michele’s bees, blooms, snakes and stars.
Several wardrobe staples also feature, like a printed neoprene sweatshirt, sneakers and denim flares with patches and embroidery.
What makes this collection even more lust-worthy is the fact that everything you buy will be delivered in exclusively designed red flannel pouches cosseted within pink, black and red boxes, and matching paper bags with black ribbon. How glorious!
While the Gucci Garden collection will only be available through Gucci’s e-stores in Japan, Korea, Australia, the UAE, the US, Canada and continental Europe from 5 July, what’s to stop you from going through a parcel forwarder? One of these boxes in the mail would be a real treat.
