There’s something about designer brands partnering with cartoon characters from our childhood that makes us want to do cutesy all over again – no matter our age. The latest project to confirm this is Coach’s collaboration with Disney, which has spawned a covetable limited-edition collection of everything from studded biker jackets and mouse-eared purses, to leather Mickey dolls and our personal favourite item: A shearling beanbag in the shape of Mickey ears.
Says Coach creative director Stuart Vevers of the collection, which is part of a series of exclusive projects that celebrate American pop culture and commemorate Coach’s 75th anniversary (remember the Peanuts range?): “Mickey Mouse is one of my earliest memories of American pop – his nostalgic charm, cheekiness, individuality and inherent cool make for the ultimate American icon.
“I’ve always seen Mickey as a playful rebel at heart and a timeless symbol of joy and creativity. That spirit reinforces the new youthful perspective we are bringing to luxury at Coach.”
The Disney X Coach collection will be available in Singapore from 24 June at Coach boutiques at Wisma Atria, Paragon, Takashimaya and Marina Bay Sands. (Psst – you’ll also get a free hangtag with a monogram of Mickey ears with any purchase from the collection.) In the meantime, see all the lookbook images above, plus one of that beanbag because it’s too cute not to share!
