Chloé, the French house that has spearheaded the ’70s trend for the past two seasons has moved on. This season, it took on the ’90s.
A note placed on every seat at the show read, “This season’s collection is a tribute to girls named Kate, Chloé, Cecilia, Corinne, Rosemary, Emma, and Courtney, who embody the liberty and the elegance of a perfectly mastered and excessively lived simplicity.”
Creative director Clare Waight Keller sent girls down in athleleisure ensembles of tracksuits and wide-legged pants. But of course, the tracksuits were made for Chloé girls, with a certain softness.
“There’s such a fast pace to fashion now; I think we’ve lost the innocence of the spirit of fashion, the youthful optimism that it portrays. And I think there’s something quite joyful about fashion that’s been missing,” said Keller, as light, fresh separates in every colour of the rainbow and adorned with tassels breezed by the guests.
