Burnt Clothes Have Never Looked So Good

Than they did on Moschino’s Fall/Winter 2016 runway

When Jeremy Scott announced his Fall/Winter 2016 collection for Moschino with a half-burnt invitation card, we did not know what to expect. This is the man who dressed models as Barbie dolls, and in pieces inspired by fast food and detergent bottles. How do you top that?

Then the Moschino fashion show in Milan rolled around and Scott set the stage on fire — figuratively and (quite) literally. Referencing the Bonfire of The Vanities in the 1490s — where art, fashion and music were razed to the ground in Florence, Italy, in opposition of the Renaissance — models traipsed down in burnt dresses that were leaving wafts of smoke, gowns with skeleton details crafted out of chains, and frocks with piano keys haphazardly sewn on. It was completely out-there, and so interesting to watch.

While we’ll have to wait a couple of months before we can get our hands on Moschino’s full Fall/Winter 2016 collection, we can shop the capsule collection right now. Aptly titled It’s Lit, expect shirts, bottoms, accessories and phone cases featuring burn prints, and modelled after cigarettes and matchsticks.

Click through above for everything you can buy right now, hot off the runway!

Shop Moschino's It's Lit capsule collection at Moschino boutiques, #01-04/05 Paragon or #01-15 The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
