5 Reasons You Need The Uniqlo X Lemaire SS16 Collection

No 1: It’s the designer’s last for the fast-fashion retailer, sob

We don’t blame you if all you remember about the last Uniqlo x Lemaire collection is the crowd scrambling to get their hands on something...anything. But if that’s making you sit on the fence about whether you want to do the same for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2016 collection, which drops in stores 4 March, here are five reasons why you shouldn’t even think about not snapping it up.

#1 It’s climate-appropriate

Let’s face it – while the Fall-Winter collection was gorgeous, many of us struggled to find pieces we could wear in our weather without our parents calling us “siao” (crazy). But this season is another story, with light fabrics and designs that are perfect for our hot and humid clime. Think billowy blouses and flared pants in seersucker, chambray and more.

#2 There’s something for everyone

With a whopping 71 pieces in the collection, and designs ranging from dresses to pants to layer-worthy tops, you’re bound to discover something that you love.

#3 There are shoes. SHOES!

For the first time, Uniqlo has produced unisex shoes – chic, minimalist plimsolls in black or white that will go with everything. At $49.90 a pair, they’re super affordable too.

#4 Nothing will go out of style

It’s Lemaire. Lemaire is Parisian. Parisian style is timeless. Logical conclusion: All the looks in this collection will see you well into next season and beyond.

#5 It might be the last time you can buy Lemaire on a shoestring

This is the French designer’s final collection for Uniqlo (at least for now), so whether you’re buying to keep as a collector’s piece or to wear, this is your last chance to do it. Prices range from $29.90 for a t-shirt to $249.90 for a men’s cotton parka.

The Uniqlo x Lemaire SS16 collection drops at Uniqlo 313@Somerset, Bugis+, ION Orchard, Jem and Suntec City on 4 March. Selected pieces will be available online from that date, and a special website to showcase the collection will go live from 5 February.
