Would You Try Microshading For Permanently Perfect Insta Brows?

Airbrushed or OTT?

SHARE

First there was microblading- the game changing semi-permanent eyebrow treatment that turned sparse 90s tadpole brows into the Cara-esque arches of your dreams without an eyebrow pencil in sight.

Then came microfeathering - a similar technique but with an uber natural, 'feathery' finish designed to mimic home grown bushy brows.

Now? It's all about microshading.

What is microshading?

Where before microblading mimicked the look of individual hairs to fill in any patches or gaps where your eyebrows just straight up refuse to grow, microshading is all about creating an airbrushed finish that's straight out of your fave beauty vlogger's Insta grid.

Geared towards those with oily or sensitive brows, microshading uses tiny dots of pigment in place of hair like strokes to create a softer gradient of colour as if the brows have been filled in with powder. You can see why the technique is also being referred to as 'powder brows'.

The Pros

Microshading lasts as long as microblading, with the final look lasting around a year and a half.

It looks neat as hell. If a seriously perfect Insta brow with the signature faded in front is your bag, then this is for you.

Sparse, thinning brows suddenly look fuller and thicker without using a pencil or powder every day.

Not having to fill in your eyebrows everyday will add literal years to your life.

The Cons

The seriously neat, dare we say, blocky, eyebrow look doesn't exactly shout understated cool girl. But if eyebrows on fleek are still your thing, then you do you.

It's not exactly cheap. Two sessions (initial and top up six weeks later) will cost you around £500. If it costs way less, you haven't got a deal you've just gone to a dodgy salon. And we don't want dodgy salons tattooing our eyebrows on.
