4 Everyday Steps To Slow Skin Ageing

They’re super simple yet surprisingly effective

1. Feed your skin

They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing. Nourish the skin with a moisturiser packed with vitamins A, C and E to aid in skin repair while you snooze. It’s known that the skin goes into repair mode at night, which makes that the best time to feed it with the nutrients it needs.

2. Keep calm

Stress is one of the main causes of ageing. Studies have shown that increased stress can cause DNA damage and weaken skin’s repair functions, which can result in a dull complexion, rough skin texture and even wrinkles. To prevent this, don’t forget to take time to relax; when you feel good on the inside, you’ll look good on the outside.

3. Quench the thirst

Skin gets drier as we age, which can result in fine lines and wrinkles. While you don’t need to load up on thick creams, you should keep your skin sufficiently hydrated to ensure that your complexion stays smooth and supple. Try facial oils as these often mimic the natural oils in the skin and hence are more effective.

4. Do the minute massage

Ever wondered why your pores look larger as you age? Sagging skin can drag your facial features downwards, which results in enlarged pores, droopy cheeks and a less defined jawline. To ensure that doesn’t happen too soon, take time to do a quick facial massage as you apply your lotions and potions. This not only helps skin absorb the product better, but also promotes better microcirculation to keep it looking youthful for longer.
