8 Tips To Keep Your #BrowGame Strong

Because your picture-perfect face deserves a good framing

While good lighting is important when tweezing your own brows, you don’t need it to be too bright – stark lighting can trick you into over-tweezing.

Want a natural finish? Fill in your eyebrows, keeping within your natural shape, then brush strands upwards using a spoolie brush to neaten them.

Makeup artist Kenneth Lee’s technique for bold brows: Know the shape you want before filling it in. Begin at the middle and work towards the outer corner. Tip: The inner corners of the brows (closest to the nose) should be slightly lighter in colour that the rest of the brow.

Not sure what shade to use when filling in your brows? As a rule of thumb, go one or two shades lighter than your natural hair hue.

For lush and neat brows, Lee recommends using powder formulas on thick eyebrows; a pencil to draw in short brows; and brow gel for sparse arches.

Need some brow definition but don’t have a brow product handy? Use mascara (preferably brown, since black may be too dark) to groom and define your brows instead. Lightly brush through the brows starting from the inner corners, and move your way along to the end.

Dab some highlighter right above the arch to add definition to your brows.

Last but not least - when in doubt, don’t attempt to give your eyebrows a DIY overhaul. Seek expert help from the good folks at Benefit, Browhaus, Erabelle or Shu Uemura!
