After months of speculation, it’s finally official: Rihanna’s going to have her very own makeup brand!
Called Fenty Beauty – a name the 28-year-old popstar secretly trademarked in 2014 – the line will be produced by the Kendo division of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, an incubator arm that makes products which eventually get sold by LVMH-owned Sephora. Kendo is also behind brands like Marc Jacobs Beauty and Kat Von D’s line.
No official word from RiRi herself yet, but Kendo CEO David Suliteanu told trade publication WWD: “Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a beauty rocket ship that will appeal to a huge and diverse global audience. We are aiming for the stars.”
While it’s anyone’s guess what products will emerge, the Bad Girl mentioned in an interview with Refinery29 last year that she would like to invent “lashes that could just put themselves on; lipstick that doesn’t move, but doesn’t dry your lips out, that you don’t need a liner for”.
Sounds like the kind of crazy beauty stuff we all live for – and luckily we won’t have to wait too long: Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is set to launch in Fall next year.
