It’s been 10 years since Daria Werbowy became Lancôme’s ambassadress, and she’s since graced over 18 beauty campaigns for the brand. Now the Ukrainian-Canadian supermodel talks to us about her life as a Lancôme face, sailing across the Atlantic and more.
What’s the best part about being a Lancôme ambassadress?
A lot of things! I’ve been able to travel a lot, and as I was travelling to these different places, I’ve learnt a lot about women in those places…
I’ve also had the pleasure of becoming a woman with the brand. It has been eight years of transformation for me, and it has been a blessing to have that transformation being embraced by the brand as well.
What do you enjoy the most about the Lancôme universe?
It’s very truthful and very honest to a modern woman: Quite confident, forward-thinking and open-minded. Lancôme has an honest and real perception of women. Lancôme talks to all women worldwide, its vision of femininity is elegant, not superficial, sensitive, generous. It goes straight to the heart of women. Lancôme is actually very representative of my personality.
What’s your definition of beauty?
I don’t think you can define beauty. Beauty resides in so many shapes and colours; it’s an ever-evolving thing. There’s no definition of it, it’s something that’s ever-growing and changing.
What makes a woman beautiful?
A combination of strength and wisdom.
Happiness is one of Lancôme’s core brand values. Would you say you’re happy?
I think the word “happy” is misused and misunderstood. It’s often not properly defined. Happiness, to me, has been about finding a balance in life where I’m happy with myself, and the rest goes along with it. Yeah, I think I’m a very happy person.
What is your definition of elegance?
What could you never give up?

Three different yoga books!
