3 Hacks To Achieve That Perfect Eyeliner Flick

No practice needed

Getting the perfect winged liner can be a make or break for many of us makeup fanatics. When things go wrong, who would’ve guessed that the solution to all our problems was right under our noses? (More specifically, they were: On desks at work, in our kitchen and sandwiched in wallets).  So when all else fails and practice still doesn’t make perfect, we’ve got you covered.

#1 Use sticky tape

Cut yourself an inch-long piece of surgical tape – it’s less adhesive than regular tape, and gentler on skin, which is especially important when dealing with that delicate under-eye area.  If you decide to reach for the more convenient Scotch tape, stick it to the back of your hand a couple of times to remove some of its stickiness.

Once you’re done with that, place the tape under the outer corner of your eye, forming an angle towards your temple. The angle really depends on the type of wing you’re going for.  From there, draw on your eyeliner as you normally would before removing the tape. If you’re using a liquid eyeliner, give the formula some time to dry before removing the tape to prevent smudges.

#2 Use a spoon

Hold the handle of the spoon under the outer corner of your eye and trace accordingly. Once you’re done with that, flip your spoon to use the concave side of it against your skin. The curved edge of the spoon should join the end of the flick you first drew to the middle of your upper lash line. Now just fill in the gap and you’re good to go.

#3 Use a business card

This one’s probably the simplest to do. Hold any non-flimsy card you have against the outer corner of your lower lash line and angle it according to your preference.  Draw against the long edge of your card with your favorite eyeliner and there you have it.
