Beep! You’ve seen Alexander Wang’s signature barcode design emblazoned on everything from the label’s dresses and collars to building facades. Now the New York-based fashion darling has come up with another item for fans to scan and add to that shopping cart.
Wang has collaborated with Evian on a limited-edition bottle in two designs that features the barcode, one in black and one in white.
This is the first time the designer has worked on product design for a beverage, though for Evian the partnership is the ninth in a string of collaborations with fashion designers. Other names the French water brand has worked with include Kenzo, Diane Von Furstenberg, Paul Smith and Jean Paul Gaultier.
In an interview with WWD, Wang said, “We don’t just live with clothes and shoes. We sit on furniture. We go to restaurants. We drink. We eat. To be able to take our brand and expand into lifestyle and work with partners that have perfected what they do is something I learn so much from and really stimulates me.”
The Evian x Alexander bottles come in two sizes, 33cl ($7) and 75cl ($15), and will be available from November at selected hotels, cafes, restaurants and premium supermarkets.
