Okay, to be fair, Kristen Stewart had to do the diva thing on this set - that of Once and Forever, Karl Lagerfeld’s new film that stars Stewart alongside the American-born British actress and daughter of Charlie Chaplin, Geraldine Chaplin.
In it, Stewart plays an actress portraying the role of a young and feisty Gabrielle Chanel during her pre-designing days - think mild-mannered one moment and screaming expletives the next. Intimidating much?
Lagerfeld directed both actresses in this film about a film at Luc Besson’s Paris studios over two days.
It will be released on 1 December as a prelude to Chanel’s Métiers d’art collection for pre-Fall 2016, which will be presented in Rome on the same day at Cinecittà, the city’s legendary film studios.
“She can look like Chanel, and I wanted to show Chanel through all the decades of her life and the comeback in the 1950’s,” quipped Lagerfeld of Stewart, whose status as a Chanel muse has seen her front two Chanel campaigns so far.
The 71-year old Chaplin, on the other hand, reprises her role as an older Mademoiselle Chanel for the fourth time in a Lagerfeld-directed film.
