This Is Officially The Fanciest Way To Play Pokemon Go

Truly the very best like no one ever was

Besides the much-anticipated announcement of the iPhone 7, last night’s Apple Keynote event revealed another update that has created a mini buzz in our office: there’s going to be a Pokemon Go addition to the Apple Watch.

And of course, there’s no other model that can get us as excited as the Apple Watch Hermès Series 2. All the latest features – like GPS, water resistance up to 50 metres, a display that’s twice as bright and a powerful dual-core processor – will be included in the new model.

The series also features exclusive watch face designs inspired by the iconic Clipper, Cape Cod and Espace Hermès models, as well as new strap designs like the Double Buckle Cuff in calfskin leather.

There’s also a new soft and flexible Sport Band option in the French luxury house’s signature orange.

As explained at last night’s presentation, Apple and Niantic teamed up to create an app for the Apple Watch called the Pokemon Go Plus. The watch app allows you to access some functions of the phone app, such as tracking of steps, hatching eggs (even if you don’t have the iPhone app open!), checking of inventory and XP, accessing Pokestops and “tracking” Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Plus will even alert you when there’s a Pokemon nearby – so you can whip out your iPhone to catch it on your primary app. The app will be reportedly launched later this month.

The Apple Watch Hermès is available in two sizes: 38mm and 42mm. Retail price starts from US$1,149 for a 38mm Single Tour. Available at selected Apple stores and from 23 September.
