Google Shows Off Its Grooves This April Fools’ Day

It’s funky time

Ever since Google issued the Pokémon challenge on April Fool’s Day in 2014 (which had me obsessively trawling Google Maps for hours searching for those elusive monsters), I’ve been looking forward to Google’s annual #prankfest on April 1st.

Proof that I did catch them all

This year, the tech giant is spreading disco fever with Pegman, the orange figure from Google Maps. Just for today, the unimpressive, featureless icon seen in Street View has been transformed into a groovy, bearded, purple-suit-with-ironed-collars wearing dude that looks suspiciously like a member of the Bee Gees.

He will even bust out some epic Saturday Night Fever disco moves for you on your smartphone – just open the Google Maps app on your phone, sign in to your Google account, look for “Funky Town” in the search bar and get ready to grooooove.
