Would You Wear This Wedding Dress?

You can probably guess who made it

My weekends, since January, have been consumed with trawling the web for wedding inspo. I'm still culling ideas for everything from decor to favours to the all-important wedding down.

When it comes to the latter, Sydney-based bridal and red carpet designer Leah Da Gloria stands out by an easy mile. Looking at her creations turns me into a hyperventilating wreck; I looooove lace, and that's Da Gloria's go-to material for all her gorgeous designs. For me, every visit to her Pinterest or web page is like being caught up in a tsunami of gown lust.

So imagine my reaction to the new “Something Blue” Barbie® doll, in collaboration with the late great Oscar de la Renta. Inspired by a 2014 runway design, it features exquisite re-embroidered lace that starts at the sweetheart neckline and ends at the sweeping hem at the feet. The strapless trumpet-style gown is S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G, even though I'm not so keen on the baby blue, multitiered tulle train that completes the gown. I think even Amal Clooney would approve.

The box the doll comes in is just as gorgeous. A blue laser-cut lace sleeve encases a white box, which opens up to reveal a wallpapered interior of white roses 'flower wall'. I can't think of anything more romantic.

Want one for yourself? The “Something Blue” Barbie® doll is available for $254 here.
