Goodbye, M)phosis

The homegrown fashion chain closes all its Singapore stores

Once-popular homegrown fashion brand, M)phosis (say “emphasis”), has officially shut all its stores in Singapore.

Known for its clean-cut apparel and accessories in basic colours like black, white, red and nude, the 21-year-old label had more than 10 stores here at its peak, along with almost 20 others in neighbouring countries.

“We were having a severe cashflow situation. We were not able to continue, despite wanting to. We did everything we could,” said Hensley Teh, M)phosis brand director. “We thank our customers who have supported us all these years.”

While it’s too late to #supportlocal now, M)phosis fans can still get their fix in China, the only place where the brand’s stores are standing strong. Those who have unused vouchers from Singapore won’t be able to use them there, though.

Did we mention it’s a tough industry? Yep.
