Athletic Lingerie Is Now A Thing

Sports-luxe just took on a whole new meaning

If we could, we’d live in our sports bras. They’re comfy, soft and made for running around, even if you’re not in a gym. But due to the way they’re usually designed, it’s not always practical to don one — unless you’re in a t-shirt that can hide the thick bands and straps all day, every day.

Well, one woman has come up with a solution. Michelle Cordeiro Grant set up Lively, a US label dedicated to creating sexy yet comfy bras and undies that "blur the aesthetic lines of lingerie, active and swim", aptly dubbed leisurée.

The pieces are a perfect combination of sturdy, stretchy sports underwear, and the support and chic designs of regular undergarments.

The choice to create leisurée makes so much sense, we’re not sure why no one ever thought of it first. Modern women, like you and us, are constantly running around for meetings, gatherings, to complete work and take care of the household all at the same time. Nobody has the time to deal with uncomfortable, restrictive underwear.

While there isn’t a very wide selection available now, we’re hoping more designs will be released as Lively matures. We’re also hoping leisurée, like the Athleisure trend, catches on, so we’ll all have more options when it comes to (actually) wearable, chic and sexy underwear. Why go for anything less, right?

From left to right: The Deep V No-Wire in Lush Life print, US$35 (approx. S$47.60), The Mesh Trim Bralette in Colourblock, US$35 (approx. S$47.60), and The Geo Lace Bikini in Jet Black, US$10 (approx. S$13.60).

Shop Lively here. The label doesn’t provide international shipping at the moment, but you can use a forwarder to get your purchases to you.
