After wiping out its Instagram posts upon the departure of former creative director Hedi Slimane, Saint Laurent has given new head honcho Anthony Vaccarello a clean slate to purport his vision and designs for the French luxury label.
Clearly, Vaccarello has taken full advantage of his freedom. The recently released video teasers for a campaign called #YSL01 feature black-and-white images and footage of new faces shot by American artist Collier Schorr.
Perhaps signifying a brand new start, the bare-faced models are clad in nothing but plain black pants and bandeaus, and the videos are set against a stark white background with creamy pale light – uncannily reminiscent of Slimane’s signature portrait photography.
As almost no clothes are shown, the teasers have only piqued our curiosity for what Vaccarello has planned for his debut at Paris Fashion Week in October. In the meantime, we’ll just have to make do with these campaign videos below.
