Everyone needs a little bit of hydration. Even though Singapore’s humidity might have you thinking that your skin doesn’t need any extra moisture, do remember that we’re a nation that loves our air-conditioning. Skin that’s dry on the outside but oily on the inside from a lack of moisture can result in a dull complexion and blemishes. Even if you don’t use a moisturiser per se, do keep skin hydrated with a hydrating lotion or serum at least.
A little bit goes a long way. You don’t need to slather your skin with your moisturiser. All you need is just one pump of lotion or a 20-cent-coin-sized dollop of cream into the palm of your hand. Warm it and pat into the skin. Add a bit more on areas that still feel tight and dry.
Don’t follow skincare trends blindly. Just because South Korean beauties do a seven-step skincare routine doesn’t mean you should too. Too much moisture can result in breakouts. Listen to your skin and do what works for you.
