We got a sneak peek at an exclusive party and we’re sharing it with you

A location like no other.

Château de la Colle Noire, Christian Dior’s former residence, was sold after the couturier's death in 1957. The Christian Dior brand bought it back in 2013 and restored it to its original glory, in line with monsieur Dior's vision. The party on 9 May 2016 was held on the grounds of the château to celebrate its inauguration.

During his life, Christian Dior planted and tended to his flowers and gardens and  took great pleasure in them. When the House Of Dior bought the Château de La Colle Noire back, the brand made sure that his favourite plants and flowers, including the centifolia roses he prized, were replanted in the gardens.

Before the dinner commenced, I was among the first guests to ever experience a tour of the newly refurbished Château de la Colle Noire. This opulent yet warm salon left us in awe. We were told monsieur Dior loved to entertain friends, and it was right here that he did just that.

Evidently, the château is a sprawling building. Despite its vast size and refined interior, though, it didn't feel cold or aloof. In fact, it managed to radiate a sense of intimacy, warmth and comfort.

A stunning setting for dinner.

Two hundred guests sat down to an exclusive press dinner under the château’s charming backyard terrace. Along with other international press, I was treated to fare by Michelin starred chef Philippe Labbé, surrounded by everything that is Christian Dior.

Actress Charliez Theron, the face of Dior's J'Adore line, and model Bella Hadid (recently announced as the newest face of Dior makuep) graced the event too, lending extra glitter to the festivities.

Inspired by the splendor of Château La Colle Noire, a perfume was created by Dior's perfume-creator, Francois Demachy. The La Collection Privée La Colle Noire fragrance is centered on the May rose (or centifolia rose), which grows in Dior's gardens. It is a rich floral note, toned with a touch of citrus, and a medley of spicy and woody elements so it lingers elegantly on the skin.

DIOR La Collection Privée Christian Dior La Colle Noire, from $390 for 125ml, is available at all Dior Beauty Boutiques and counters.

May 9 2016, Montauroux, in the south of France. The House of Dior re-opened Château de la Colle Noire, the last home of Christian Dior, and ELLE Singapore was there for an exclusive press tour of the grand château.

Following that, there was an intimate dinner for 200 guests on the backyard terrace of the château.
