When it comes to shopping for beauty products, who would have thought you could reduce, reuse and recycle - all at the same time? But yes you can and it requires little to no effort. South Korean beauty brand Innisfree is all about caring for your skin and cherishing this earth. You might not know, but to maintain the earth and encourage customers to go green, the brand has these initiatives in place:
#1 Empty bottle recycling campaign
If you’ve been to an Innisfree store, you would have seen one of these recycle bins. This is for an ongoing initiative that enables members of the brand to recycle up to three empty bottles each month. In return, members receive 50 membership points per bottle recycled. The containers however, will have to have a label stating “please return to Innisfree after use” for the return to be valid. For every 50 points accumulated, members are able to redeem $1 off their next purchase. Score.
#2 Paper-bag free day
On the first Saturday of each month, customers can choose not to receive a shopping bag during their purchase in exchange for a travel-sized sample. So bring along an eco-friendly tote to store your buys.
#3 Eco-handkerchief campaign
Annually in June, different handkerchief designs are made available to promote the brand’s eco-conscious philosophy. The eco-handkerchiefs are complimentary for any purchase above $30, while stocks last. These are great for reducing the use of tissues or be used as an accessory, and we can’t wait to see the designs for 2016. We hear South Korean actor and ambassador to the brand, Lee Min Ho, was spotted using one of these while filming an ad for the brand.
