We’ve all been there - partied the night away, thinking we look awesome under the pulsing lights of a nightclub, only to find out when we’re having our Maggi mee goreng or bak kut teh supper that in reality our makeup has melted off and we look terrible under the harsh lights of the coffee shop. Ouch.
With a little effort, however, you can look as fresh as you did when you left the house, after a night’s partying. And when we say a little, we mean just that - all you have to do is follow these three steps and you’ll be good.
#1 Don’t skip primer
Prime your skin. Using a primer evens out skin texture, minimises the appearance of pores and most importantly, helps your makeup last even longer. You can even use an eyeshadow primer for eye makeup or lip primer before your lippies. Tip: Don’t overload on primer – using too much might cause it to pill under your foundation.
#2 Pick waterproof products
Waterproof makeup products are less likely to smudge when it gets crazy humid. So choose the right formula to prevent your makeup from melting.
#3 Set your makeup
“Help your makeup last longer by misting over your completed face with a makeup finishing spray; a regular face mist will do too,” says makeup maestro Clarence Lee. “Then use a soft powder puff and gently press over the face to help makeup adhere better.”
