These Masks Use Magnets To Give You Younger-Looking Skin

Are you attracted to or repelled by the idea?

There’s nothing quite as relaxing as treating our skin to a facial mask after a long, hard day at work. And now, with everything from handmade masks to animal-style masks on the market, there are no lack of options to choose from.

But if you’re looking for an interactive and fun facial mask experience, pick up a magnetic mask.

At first glance, magnetic masks look and work exactly like a regular face mask. You apply the thick, grey cream on to the skin and leave it on for five to ten minutes.

The magic happens when it's time to remove the product from your face. Magnetic masks don’t peel off or need to be rinsed off. To clean off a magnetic mask, you hover an actual magnet (that usually comes with the product) over the skin. The product gets whisked off your face onto the magnet — which is incredibly satisfying and interesting to watch. Don’t believe us? Watch the video below!

The magnetic masks that are currently blowing up on the Internet are the Dr. Brandt Magnetight Age-Defier Mask, and Anti-Ageing skincare label Lancer Skincare’s upcoming magnetic Younger Revealing Mask Intense. While they’re the most talked-about right now, Australian beauty brand Seacret has had a magnetic mask, the Mineral-rich Magnetic Mud Mask, for a couple of years now.

So how do magnetic masks work? These masks contain iron, a magnetic material that’s attracted to magnetic forces. Iron isn’t added into the masks just for dramatic effect — the electromagnetic interaction that happens when you remove the mask via magnets stimulates the skin’s natural ability to rejuvenate itself, leading to younger-looking skin.

A cool new way to reverse the effects of time on our skin? We’re sold.
