Created as a tribute to Asia, this scent with lily-of-the-valley, rose, jasmine and smoky guaiac wood has many different facets when sprayed on skin. It manages to be floral and fresh with a faintly smoky drydown.

This smells nothing like the other vanilla fragrances on the market, so don’t expect anything sugary or sticky. A blend of different vanillas, orange blossom with a subtle touch of bitter cocoa give this oriental scent its airiness with soft musk.

Leather, jasmine and rose notes create a choir of powdery, clean and sensual musks. "Its name in French means ‘under the skin’ or ‘I am really fond of you’," says Louis Vuitton house perfume, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.

Full of contrasts, this has deep and sensual agarwood (arguably the most expensive oud), balanced with floral and fruity blackcurrant, narcissus and jasmine to tone down its sharpness.

Sensual and sophisticated is what this leather infusion is. The juice also contains a delicate sweet and frutiness of osmanthus and raspberry notes.

This smells like a fresh bouquet in a bottle. A trio of roses deliver a dewy and airy floral posy, while hints of iris and cedarwood bring a touch of velvety sophistication.

Its beautiful combination of tuberose (the queen of flowers), jasmine and magnolia create a fusion of white petals that are seemingly carried by the wind ─ a perfect harmony of nature.

Drop everything! Louis Vuitton is launching not one, but SEVEN different fragrances come September. You read that right.

And while we are just as excited as you to Now Add Perfume To Our Louis Vuitton Collection, here are the 11 things you need to know about the Les Parfums Louis Vuitton line:

#1

Mark 15 September – the fragrance launch date – on your calendars, stat! All seven juices will be available at Louis Vuitton Marina Bay Sands and Ngee Ann City boutiques.

#2

Each perfume will be available in 100ml, $370, and 200ml, $540. A Miniature Set featuring seven 10ml miniatures will retail at $370. There’s also a travel-sized atomizer with four 7.5ml cartridges, $370.

#3

The perfume bottles are designed to last and are meant to be passed down. So if you are ever out of your favourite LV perfume, simply bring the empty bottle down to the store to get a refill (price currently unavailable).

#4

The nose behind the range is none other than Louis Vuitton’s house perfume, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. He is also the man behind iconic fragrances such as Issey Miyake’s L’Eau d’Issey and Giorgio Armani’s Acqua di Gio Pour Homme.

#5

The perfumes were created over three years, and Belletrud created more than 90 juices for Louis Vuitton alone!

#6

The seven fragrances are intensely feminine and are said to trace a journey of emotions. Plus: Flowers are key to the entire collection.

#7

Contrary to popular belief, these new offerings aren’t actually the first fragrances from the brand. It had, in fact, debuted a single scent in 1927, followed by a second in 1928 and a third in 1946.

#8

Ground-breaking perfumery techniques were used in the creation of Louis Vuitton Les Perfumes. For one, CO2 extraction – the process of bathing ingredients in carbon dioxide gas – was done on both the May rose and jasmine flower. The result: A fresh scent that smells like you are holding a bouquet right under your nose.

#9

Some of the juices also contain a leather note. But unlike other existing leather aromas in perfumery, this infusion was specially created by Belletrud and brings to mind the scent of the light beige leather used to cover the handles and straps of the maison’s trunks and handbags.

#10

The luxury Louis Vuitton fragrances use some of the priciest ingredients in the fragrance market. One of them is vanilla: “Its price has increased more than five-fold in the period of three years,” says Belleturd. One of the fragrances also feature agarwood. Because the tree takes 30 years to grow and the yield of the oil is very small, it is arguably the most costly oud. There’s also the narcissus flower that “perfumers have not been using for a long time”. “To be frank, it is too expensive,” says Belleturd.
