These makeup setting mists can work wonders if you use them correctly. Makeup artist Larry Yeo shares some quick tips:

1. After you finish applying your makeup, hold a makeup setting mist at least 20cm away from your face (that is about an average arm's length away) and spray in an "x" then in a "+" motion. "This will ensure that your face is well-covered," says Larry.

2. After spraying on, let the mist air dry naturally. It shouldn't be too wet or dripping down your chin. "You need to control the spray mist by holding the bottle sufficiently far from your face and moving it quickly," adds Larry.

3. As the spray's mist dries on the skin, it helps makeup adhere better and look fresh for longer. Larry likes Make Up For Ever's Mist + Fix as it "has film formers that ensures makeup is fixed well," says Larry.

4. If you have oily skin, Larry recommends the NYX Makeup Setting Spray Matte Finish, which is sold in Sephora.
