The Best Fashion Week Nails So Far

Time for some nail inspiration

1. Naeem Khan

The look: We’re still in awe of the '70s and '80s inspired collection Naeem Khan presented at New York Fashion Week. “The nude and pink ombrè nails are a reflection of spring’s vibrant colour palate,” says Khan.

2. Michael Costello

The look: Essie Canada Lead Nail Artist Rita Remark created this look for Michael Costello’s glamorous Spring 2017 collection. It was as though the models had just stepped out of a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale.

3. Christian Siriano

The look: Inspired by a summer getaway on the Isle of Capri, Christian Siriano’s Spring 2017 collection is filled with bold colours, inspired by “the turquoise waters and citrus orange-stripe umbrella-lined beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea.” *Sigh* To complement the clothing, celebrity manicurist and KISS brand ambassador Gina Edwards created an asymmetrical, turquoise nail with strong black and white stripes.

4. Self-Portrait

The look: Rita Remark created a matte nail that complemented Self Portrait's yellow and nude toned collection. We can totally picture every downtown norm-core girl rocking this alt-nail look come spring.

5. Rebecca Minkoff

The look: Celebrity manicurist Michelle Saunders created a modern french manicure for the Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2017. The look was inspired by "the eclectic cool girl vibes" showcased in Minkoff's line.

6. Altuzarra

The look: Joseph Altuzarra was inspired by the '90s film Wild at Heart for his Spring 2017 collection. Manicurist Julie Kandalec created a pretty, understated mani with pink undertones.

7. Alexander Wang

The look: The nails for Wang's Spring 2017 runway show were inspired by the "quintessential beach bum who spends their day playing in the sand." Celebrity manicurist Michelle Saunders created a gorgeous matte nude nail that appeared to have been "sanded down effect from days spent sunning at the beach.”

8. Jeremy Scott

The look: Eighties vibes ruled the runway at Jeremy Scott's 2017 show, from asymmetrical hair cuts, circle skirts – right down to the nail art. Brightly coloured polishes were used to create polka dots on the nails of each and every model, a look that was oh... so... Jeremy Scott.

9. Jenny Packham

The look: Essie Nail artist Michelle Saunders wanted to create a nail look that would both flatter every look in the collection while appealing to the fashionable set.
