No Makeup Is Going To Be The Next Huge Makeup Trend

Alicia Keys and Kim K are both fans

Don’t get us wrong — we’re not talking about the no-makeup makeup look. We’re talking going completely makeup-free.

Alicia Keys first made waves at the MTV VMAs in August by going makeup-less on the red carpet, although that move shouldn’t have come as a surprise given how the singer announced her new resolution to go bare-faced in an essay on Lena Dunham’s e-magazine Lenny Letter.

Up-and-coming Canadian songwriter Alessia Cara also attended the awards show sans makeup.

Now, another star has joined the makeup-free revolution and we would have never guessed who it was.

Queen of contouring (or kontouring) and the more-is-more aesthetic Kim Kardashian surprised everyone by going makeup-free to attend the Balenciaga Spring 2017 show in Paris this past weekend.

The no-makeup look isn’t just big with celebs, it has also been a key look on fashion week runways in Paris, London, Milan and New York for the Spring/Summer 2017 season.

While we love makeup, this comes as a refreshing change and great reminder that while we are all the boss of how much makeup we want to pile on our faces, it’s sometimes great to step back and learn how to love it just the way it is.

Want in on the no-makeup look? All you really need to do is prep your skin with skincare as you usually would.

If you want to rock your natural skin but feel more comfortable with a little more coverage, resident troll-nicorn Larry Yeo gave a step-by-step guide for a supple and naturally glowing look that he did at New York Fashion Week in last week’s #TuesdaysWithLarry, using a minimal amount of product.

After dominating both the runway and red carpet, we can’t wait to see the makeup-free look taking off on the streets.
