These 4 Makeup Tricks Will Ensure You Never Look Bad In Pics Again

It’s all down to these key points

Makeup maestro Clarence Lee knows a thing or two about getting people camera-ready. The industry veteran has prepped local and international A-listers alike - Zhang Ziyi, the Spice Girls and Stefanie Sun included - for magazine shoots, TV shows and more. Here, he shares his top makeup tips for the camera. Read on and never be caught at less than your best again.

1. Keep eye makeup clean

“Apply eye makeup only on the upper lids to prevent any effect of ‘pulling’ the eyes downwards – and definitely keep the lower lash line clean. At most, use just mascara or shimmer eyeshadow or liner on the lower lids,” says Lee.

2. Shine is okay

…But only on certain places! “The whole face can take shine but not the nose,” Lee notes. “It doesn’t look nice when your nose looks oily in pictures.” So don’t forget to dab away excess shine on your schnozz before snapping a shot.

3. Blusher is necessary

“A healthy glow on the cheeks is always nice, so wear some cheek colour, please!” We love a rosy flush or peach-hue that mimics how you look if you had a glass (or two!) of wine.

4. Don’t neglect your brows

Get your brows done professionally if you’re not good at managing them yourself, advises Lee. And if they’re not full enough, try brow embroidery. According to the makeup expert, your look won’t be complete if you put effort into your makeup - but not your brows. You know the saying that the brows are the frame for the picture that’s your face? So true.
