K-Beauty Brands Moonshot & 3CE To Launch In SG

Now you can look like Big Bang, 2NE1, Park Sora et al

From BB creams to cushion foundations, we’ve developed an obsession with South Korea’s ever-advancing beauty industry. So it goes without saying that we were thrilled to hear that Moonshot and 3CE will be stocked in Sephora Singapore stores from September 2015. Here’s why we can’t wait:

The names you need to know in K-pop: Big Bang, 2NE1 and their parent company, YG Entertainment. In late 2014, the entertainment agency started its own cosmetics brand, Moonshot. The inspiration for the brand name reportedly comes from the space shuttle Apollo 11’s legendary landing on the moon. The brand will launch in Singapore with a variety of makeup, and minimal skincare products (cleansing oil, essence, moisturiser and sunscreen) for now with prices ranging from $12 for a Powder Duo Case and Brush to $56 for a Face Perfection Liquid foundation.

Our must-tries:

1. Moonshot Color Moonwalk Cream Paint in 104 Pink Punch, $36.
We all love a good time-saving multi-purpose product like this one that doubles up as a lip and cheek colour. It’s also moisturising and has a cream-to-powder finish.

2. Moonshot Jelly Pot in 702 Moon Revenge, $34.
Its jelly texture makes this water-based eyeshadow easy to apply. We tried swiping it on our eyelids using just our fingers — one smear was all it took to get vivid colour that didn’t crease throughout the day.

3. Moonshot Dark Spot Concealer, $35.
This doesn’t just conceal spots; it’s also formulated with brightening ingredients to prevent dark spots from forming in the future.

Fashionistas, listen up! K-style brand Stylenanda’s beauty brand 3CE (a.k.a 3 Concept Eyes) will also be stocked at Sephora. The brand is fronted by ulzzang (literally translates to “best face” in Korean and can be used to describe some who have become internet celebrities) model Park Sora and offers a range of makeup from highlighters and eyeliners, to lipsticks and mascaras. Prices range from $16 for an Eyebrow Mascara to $42 for a Skin Fit Powder Foundation SPF31/PA+++.

1. 3CE Lip Marker in Raspberry Pink, $20
Our current team favourite is this berry-coloured tint that smells fruity sweet. It goes on easily so you can get perfectly lined lips or we like to use this just in the middle of our pout for a gradient effect. Sheer but you can layer on for stronger colour.

2. 3CE Pore Silky Stick in White, $21
Prime skin with this for a smooth finish. It evens out rough skin, conceals pores and helps with oil control without drying skin out.

3. 3CE Super Slim Pen Eye Liner, $17
The extra-fine brush tip gives greater control when lining the lashes or drawing cat-eye flicks. The best part: No panda eyes as it doesn’t smudge or flake.
