When it comes to hair, most of us prefer our partings to the side. Side-parted styles are generally more flattering - plus if your bangs are longer, sweeping them to the side gives your look a flirty flourish.
So it was a surprise to see models strutting down the season’s catwalks at Elie Saab, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Versace, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana and more, all sporting centre-parted styles that were very chic.
Off the runways, celebrities like Olivia Palermo, celebrity fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni and Queen Bee Beyonce herself have also been rocking the centre part.
How are they doing it? Here are three quick tips to get the look right.
1. Don’t go for straight
Because this can look quite severe. Try a messy, zig-zag part for a softer look instead.
2. Embrace wispy flyaway strands and bedhead
They make the centre-parted style look effortlessly cool.
3. Brighten your look with the right makeup
If you’re going for a stark middle-parting, line your eyes and wear a bright lippie to raise the chic factor.
