ELLE Review: Vaseline Aloe Spray

Is this spray-and-go body moisturiser really as easy to use as it looks?

Great for women who don’t have the time and patience to slather on body lotions, the latest Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturisers are quick to use and absorb in seconds — all you need to do is spray and go. The Aloe Soothe variant also contains aloe to soothe and moisturise skin.

This dispenses as a light liquid so all you have to do is spray some on, massage it into skin and get dressed to go. I didn’t have to wait around for it to be absorbed into skin as I do with other body moisturisers, and it didn’t leave a sticky, greasy feel after. I used this after my IPL sessions and it did seem to calm the skin. I also found it great for use on slightly sunburnt skin as it helped cool and soothe instantly. It also has a green, floral fragrance, which I found refreshing and pleasant.

In theory, this would be great to use on hard-to-reach areas such as the back. But I found that you still have to rub in the product because it dispenses as a liquid. Plus, depending on your aim, you might end up getting some on the floor (yes, I misfired). I would suggest using this in the shower, right after rinsing, to lock in the skin’s natural moisture.

$13.90, at all major supermarkets.
