ELLE Review: Kosé Esprique Cool BB Spray

A BB product that's a spray, not a cream, and promises the earth? How could we not check it out

THE HYPE: This is the first BB product in a spray that acts as a makeup base, powder, sunscreen and serum — all at once. It reportedly reduces the appearance of pores by cooling skin, and has powders to blur imperfections and smooth skin’s texture.

THE PROS: Unlike other BB creams, this works as a spray. Simply shake the can, spritz some formula on the provided sponge, then blend over skin evenly for medium coverage. It left a cooling sensation on our skin that lasted for a few minutes, which provided instant relief from the heat and seemed to visibly tighten pores for a smoother complexion. We particularly like its lightweight texture that goes on like an essence but finishes as a light powder, so skin looks fresh throughout the day. And thanks to hyaluronic acid and collagen, our skin stayed hydrated with no dry flakes in sight. We also didn’t have to feel too guilty about skipping sunscreen as this contains high sun-protection properties.

THE CONS: It would have been even more fuss-free to spray this directly onto the skin — think air-brushing. And unfortunately, there are only two shades, so this might not suit all skin tones.

$32, at all Kosé counters.
