ELLE Review: Aesop Blue Chamomile Facial Hydrating Masque

Your answer to baby soft skin in half an hour

A lightweight gel that promises to intensely hydrate the skin thanks to a blend of botanical extracts like blue chamomile, bisabolol, ginger root, rosemary leaf and lavender, together with sodium carrageenan and pro-vitamin B5. Skin is soothed and moisturised in just 30 minutes.

The mask feels cool upon application and instantly soothes the senses if you’re feeling hot and flushed. It applies easily and after a few minutes is quickly absorbed into the skin, without leaving behind any tacky feeling. No rinsing required; just tissue off the excess and head to bed.

Skin feels soft and smooth when you wake, and makeup goes on easily. There is a radiant glow to the complexion too. Best bit? You can even use it like an overnight treatment before boarding that 12-hour flight to Europe.

As the natural extracts in the formula can be rather active, you might experience a little stinging upon application, but that is natural. However, those with ultra sensitive skins might not want to leave the mask on for the required 30 minutes. Just 10 minutes will do. In addition, those with oily skin should probably use this once a week or every fortnight instead of the recommended twice a week.

$69. Aesop Blue Chamomile Facial Hydrating Masque is available at 52 Club Street, #01-11 Capitol Piazza, #01-27 Westgate, #01-335 Suntec City, #B1-50 Ngee Ann City and Tangs By Tangs Plaza.
