You don’t know it yet, but you may already have met the next Michelle Phan. She could be that girl you see every morning on the MRT, or your neighbour from the next block.
Because the biggest YouTube beauty star search right now is happening across Asia, and it involves entrants from everywhere.
Organised by SKII and YouTube, Beauty Bound Asia is shooting to be the region’s top “digital search and creator cultivator program for emerging online beauty talent”.
It’s made up of a series of time-based challenges and mentorship sessions, and is led by Asia’s best beauty influencers and industry experts (including ELLE Singapore’s very own beauty director, Vanessa Chia!).
The chief mentor? None other than the original beauty YouTuber Michelle Phan herself, who has over 7.8 million followers on YouTube and 1.9 million on Instagram.
Other coaches include Japan’s Sasaki Asahi, Korea’s Calary Girl, Australia’s Wengie and Singapore’s Roseanne Tang.
Tomorrow marks the first challenge for the top 100 semi-finalists (look out for a peek from the challenge here). After that, there’ll be a finals round involving 30 contestants, of which two will be chosen to attend the grand Asia finals in Tokyo on 7 November!
Want to follow the participants on their journey to Phan-dom and pick up some skills yourself too? Watch all the videos here.
ELLE Singapore is proud to support the very first Beauty Bound Asia, organised by SKII and YouTube.
