While we're quite partial to our backless Acne patch strip sandals and off-the shoulder blouses, we must admit, we're quite excited for the colder months.
And what better excuse to spend the encroaching dark nights and cold weather than with an array of upcoming films with inspirational wardrobe looks to match the cold weather?
We explore the autumn film releases' most inspiring wardrobes.
1. Café Society
Plot: Starring Blake Lively and ELLE UK's September cover star Kristen Stewart, Café Society follows Bobby, a young man who moves to Hollywood and falls in love with a secretary who is having an illicit affair with his uncle.
Clothes: Chanel created custom clothes and jewelry inspired by Coco's designs for Kristen and Blake's retro and glamorous styles, accesorised with brooches, earrings and pearls.
Tip: Team silver lamé and sheer dresses that can be accessorised with oversized jewellery. Keep daywear simple with pastel-colored dresses, Mary Jane heels and Peter Pan collars for the ultimate 1930s look.
Café Society is out in cinemas now.
2. The Light Between Oceans
Plot: The Light Between Oceans tells the story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife in post World War I Australia who discover a baby in a shipwrecked boat and decide to keep the child, unbeknownst to the tragic consequences their decision will produce.
Clothes: Located on the shores of Australia, the wardrobe for the film was kept simple with neutral tones, knitwear and loose-fitting layers. If Pinterest did fashion…
Tip: Channel your inner Alicia Vikander by purchasing hip-length cardigans, turtleneck jumpers and stick to a neutral colour palette of blush pink, grey and cream.
The Light Between Oceans is out 5 January 2017.
3. Bridget Jones’s Baby
Plot: Having split from Mark Darcy (we know, we know), Bridget is navigating singledom once again is soon on the hunt to find out which who could be the father of her unborn child – her ex Darcy or new partner, Jack.
Clothes: Gone are the leopard-print granny pants, flannel pyjama bottoms and kitten heels. Bridget 2.0 has ventured into a more on-trend wardrobe this time round with stone-washed jeans, knee-high boots and cable-knit jumpers (well, this is Bridge we're talking about).
Tip: The key to dressing like Bridget is to keep shape and colors simple. Team navy and dark together, cover up in thigh-skimming military-style coats and if in doubt, wear silk blouses. Like, always. Keep accessories to a minimum and carry around a red leather-cased iPad for extra B points.
Bridget Jones's Baby is out in cinemas now.
4. The First Monday In May
Plot: Filmmaker Andrew Rossi follows the creation of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 2015 fashion exhibition 'China: Through The Looking Glass', with unprecedented access behind the scenes with curator Andrew Bolton.
Clothes: From Rihanna's Guo Pei yellow, fur-trimmed cape embroiled with flora and Kim Kardashian's Roberto Cavalli nude lace gown to Lady Gaga's monochrome feathered cape dress, ostentatious designs and shapes were key on the night.
Tip: Combine ruffled shoulders with bold prints, multi-coloured tulle skirts and thick-lapelled jackets.
