There are a couple of grooming essentials that we “borrow” from our guy’s vanity – The Malin + Goetz Face Moisturizer and the Kiehl’s Facial Fuel. For anyone wondering, the products work great to moisturise skin and depuff the eye area respectively.
And there’s a new homme product we’ve set our sights on: The new Burberry fragrance, Mr. Burberry. Created by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, the fragrance is inspired by the city of London and the the iconic Burberry trench coat.
It was love at first whiff for us. The eau de toilette is a woody-herbal scent that is both fresh and warm at the same time. The fragrance is modern and sensual, with hints of masculinity and we found it to be a comforting scent. The best part: It is not cloying or overpowering, making it perfect for women to use, too.
The scent opens with crisp and zesty notes of grapefruit and cardamom, before revealing a robust heart of cedar wood and birch leaf that perfectly balances the top notes. It then dries down to a light yet earthy finish of vetiver and sandalwood notes.
We think it makes for a great gift for your guy because you’ll get to enjoy it too. Customers who purchase a 100ml or 150ml bottle of the juice from Burberry.com and selected Burberry stores will be able to get their initials monogramed onto the bottle for a personalised touch.
The entire Mr. Burberry grooming line consists of an aftershave splash, face moisturiser, beard oil, deodorant spray, deodorant stick and body wash. In an emergency situation, we even “borrowed” some face moisturiser and it left our skin instantly hydrated and brighter. We also used some beard oil on our hair (on the head) to tame flyaways, which worked out well.
